Nivia chose to go into healthcare for her career path because she wants to make a positive impact on peoples’ lives by providing competent and caring support related to well-being. She believes her ability to connect with others and show empathy is one of the things that makes her special in her field. She prides herself on having great attention to detail along with a wide range of organizational skills and she enjoys the collaboration aspects of working on a high-functioning team.
So far in her life, Nivia says she feels her highest achievement is making her own mental and physical health a top priority, especially in challenging times. We all have heroes in life and for Nivia, one of her top heroes is her grandmother, who provides a lot of good advice gained through her own years of experience. In addition, Nivia says her Mom is one of the hardest working people she knows, showing compassion for everyone she meets. So lots of wonderful family inspiration in Nivia’s life has taken her to the present day!
Nivia is currently attending Harper College to obtain a certificate in Health Information Technology in order to explore a diverse range of specialties and roles in the industry she loves. In time away from work, Nivia enjoys strength training at the gym, baking and shopping. Her favorite quote? “You grow through what you go through.”
