When Dr. Will was growing up in Connecticut, his Dad, a pediatric dentist, frequently experienced work-related pain and discomfort in his back and neck. Exacerbated by a rock climbing accident resulting in a serious injury to his spine, these back and neck stresses resulted in debilitating chronic pain which interfered with his ability to work. Chiropractic care, together with lifestyle interventions like improved diet and exercise, effectively relieved his pain and brought him to an even better physical condition than he previously experienced. As a teenager, Dr. Will also saw his grandfather suffering with extreme pain and headaches from Trigeminal Neuralgia and he benefited tremendously from acupuncture treatments.
While at the University of Connecticut Dr. Will had the opportunity to travel to China to study the health impacts of traditional Chinese medicine and related integrated medical interventions. Having observed the capacity of a combination of chiropractic, acupuncture and integrative medical treatments to provide relief from pain and suffering, inspired him to pursue dual degrees in Chiropractic and Naturopathic medicine at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.
Dr. Will attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut, earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology in 2015. During his time there he participated in and earned a certificate from a study-abroad program at Peking University Health Science Center Beijing, China which was focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine, pharmacy and culture. Also during his undergraduate years he worked as a research assistant in the departments of Psychology, Environmental and Evolutionary Biology and Nutrition.
Following his graduation from UConn, he transplanted from the east coast to Lombard, Illinois to attend a dual-degree program at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois in Naturopathic and Chiropractic medicine. He completed his Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine in 2021 and his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2020. While at NUHS, he also participated in the Salvation Army Chicago student clinical program, providing care to program participants.
On first meeting, people tend to notice that Dr. Will is highly empathetic and willing to patiently listen and try to understand each person’s individual needs. He makes an effort to meet all patients where they are in their journey, then moving forward with sensitivity and the understanding that every individual will have their own particular capacity for healing.
In his time away from work, Dr. Will enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, camping, playing pickleball and solving puzzles in escape rooms. He also enjoys drawing and his long standing practice of collecting and building Lego sets.
One of the biggest influences in Dr. Will’s life has been his father. He ran a successful pediatric dental practice for roughly thirty years and inspired his son to pursue a career in healthcare. Working in his office as a dental hygiene assistant in his teens, allowed Dr. Will to see how preventative health care can improve lives.
What makes Dr. Will special in his field? His commitment to closely listening to patients to determine what they are looking for in their Chiropractic treatment is at the top of the list. He often hears from patients that what they most need is for someone to really listen to them. Answering that need, Dr. Will is a highly attentive and empathetic listener who puts his patients at ease.
Dr. Will is currently working to earn his Webster Certification and is also in the midst of doing a 100-hour Acupuncture Course. This will lead to certification in acupuncture in 2024.
After practicing in the Champaign-Urbana area most recently, Dr. Will relocated to the Chicago area and he decided to join the KCC team because he feels our dedication to service and quality chiropractic care, aligns with his own belief system, philosophy and purpose. He also looks forward to growth and development in an integrative practice setting, while collaborating with other seasoned professional practitioners.
